The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight, but has no vision.
-Helen Keller
I have always been a half glass full kind of person. Recently I have been focusing a lot on vision. Not just a vision but a positive vision. Thinking positive is really one of the keys to life. I know thinking positive is hard sometimes. I am not perfect. I have my moments and days where I’m thinking negatively. I am doing my best by letting those negative thoughts just pass and not linger on them.
I am in the process of making a vision board of everything I want to achieve in the near future. I believe if you see what you want to achieve every day you are more likely to put your vision into goals and goals into progress. This is the first time I am actually putting together an actual vision board. It’s nice having a Pinterest and putting all your wants on a digital board. But its nothing like a physical one where you took your time and put it together yourself.
The biggest catalyst for this whole thing is Brian Tracy. There are tons of motivational speakers out there. When I listened to Brian Tracy’s story things just started to click. I thought just having a vision in your mind and trying to think as positive as you can and everything else will fall into place. Yeah, sure some things I have envisioned in my mind have come true. But for ALL of my dreams to come true I need to refine my vision put that into goals and the goals into action.
One of my goals has been waking up at 6 am every day. I am not at 6 am yet but I am waking up at 6:45 am. Next week I’ll push my alarm to 6:30 and so on until I’m up at 6. Going for a walk. Spending my walking time listening to positive podcasts & music. It really helps me get into the right mindset for the day. I am really lucky that I don’t have an actual boss and have to show up to work at a certain time. Getting into the habit of waking up early when I necessarily don’t have too is forcing a type of routine I need to have going forward wherever my career takes me.
What are your thoughts on vision boards?
